How to Become an Entrepreneur

Owning your own business gives you a sense of freedom and empowerment. You can build things and watch them grow.

Entrepreneurs make decisions for themselves, realize their creative visions and develop lasting relationships with other entrepreneurs, customers and vendors.

It’s a great way to live. That’s why I’ve started so many businesses – I can’t get enough.

So I’ve put together these tips to help you become more successful.

  1. get gritty
Grit is persistence. Grit is the go-get – ‘ em attitude we expect from entrepreneurs. Grit is the ability to keep working when everyone is telling you to give up.

If you want to be a successful entrepreneur, you have to be gritty.

Honestly, without hard work and perseverance, you’re not going anywhere in the entrepreneurial world.

  1. challenge yourself
If you want to be a successful entrepreneur, you need to challenge yourself. No one else is going to push you, so it’s up to you to do it.

Challenges keep entrepreneurs nimble and on their toes. If you’re constantly on the lookout for the next challenge, you’ll always be prepared for whatever comes your way.

Consider this example:

You go to the gym to build your upper body strength. You start doing bicep curls with a 10-pound weight. It feels pretty heavy at first. But as you build your strength, it gets easier.

Would you stop there? No!

Then it’s time to do biceps curls with a 20-pound weight. Once you’ve done biceps curls at a weight of 20 pounds, it feels easy to return to a weight of 10 pounds.

As you challenge yourself with new and difficult tasks, your other tasks will seem even easier. Just like that 10-pound weight feels easy after you’ve lifted a 20-pound weight.

As an entrepreneur, you must always be on the lookout for the next big challenge.

  1. be passionate
If you don’t love what you do, don’t do it. I truly believe it’s that simple.

As an entrepreneur, you have to put in long hours and make sacrifices for your business.

If you have a passion for what you do, it will no longer feel like a sacrifice to put in the long hours.

If you don’t have a passion for what you do, you won’t have the motivation to keep going when you’re stressed and tired.

Have you ever noticed those entrepreneurs who never seem to get tired? Those entrepreneurs who get that gleam in their eye when they talk about what they do?

Yes, that’s passion.

Forty-four percent of entrepreneurs started their business because they saw an opportunity to create something great. You are passionate about your business. Are you?

Be passionate about what you do, and being an entrepreneur just gets a little easier.

  1. take risks
People are generally risk-averse, but part of being an entrepreneur is recognizing the risks you should take.

Successful entrepreneurs take risks. It’s part of the job.

Successful entrepreneurs also know what risks to take and what risks not to take.Learn to identify the risks that will benefit your business and take them.

There is a dangerous side to taking risks, but the opportunities they present often far outweigh the potential dangers.

Learn how to identify which risks are worth taking and you will learn to be a successful entrepreneur.

  1. trust yourself
If you don’t believe in yourself, who will?

Being a successful entrepreneur means that you have learned to listen to your intuition and rely on your wisdom when making decisions.

Your ability to trust and believe in yourself will show your confidence. People are more likely to follow and trust confident leaders.

Confidence in your own abilities will also take some of the pain of uncertainty out of entrepreneurship.

If you feel insecure, think about how much experience and knowledge you have. Most entrepreneurs start their business after years of experience working for someone else.
There’s nothing wrong with asking for help when you need it or turning to a mentor, but you also need to learn to trust yourself and your own judgment without getting input from others.

Learn to trust yourself and you are already starting down the path of entrepreneurial success.

  1. reduce fear
Fear stops action. Entrepreneurs need to be able to pivot and act quickly when they see an opportunity or recognize a mistake.

If fear is riding on your shoulder, you will not be a successful entrepreneur.

As an entrepreneur, if you let fear be your guide, you won’t be able to listen to your intuition, you’ll be afraid to take the necessary risks, and your judgment will be clouded by emotion.

Find ways to reduce and manage your fear and you will be a much more successful entrepreneur.

Remember, fear has to do with your perspective.

Research has shown that the more crime TV you see, the more likely you are to fear crime. Reduce your fear by changing your perspective.

My favorite tip for managing fear as an entrepreneur is confidence building exercises.

For me, I like to take a few moments at night to think about the decisions I made that day that had a successful outcome.

If you reflect each day on the decisions you made that benefited you, others or your business, you can quickly build your confidence and reduce anxiety.

  1. visualize goals
This tip is less abstract than you might think,so bear with me.

When I advise entrepreneurs to visualize their goals, I don’t intend for them to close their eyes and see the goal in front of them.

I want you to visualize your goal by defining it so clearly that it is real and tangible.

For example, which of these is a more feasible:

I want to become a successful entrepreneur.
I’m going to become a successful entrepreneur by starting a business that solves a problem for this specific niche of my audience.
The second one, right?

If you can clearly articulate and visualize your goal, it becomes more achievable.

There are many ways to visualize your goal if you’re not sure how to start. You can write it down or draw it out.

You can tell someone, such as a friend or business partner, or take photos that represent your goal. Go with your strengths.

If you ask a successful entrepreneur what their goal is, they can tell you in detail what they are working on.

  1. Hire great partners.
I admit that this one might be a bit obvious.

Successful entrepreneurs are not successful in a vacuum. We all have a great team and support network behind us.

And when I recommend hiring great partners, I don’t just mean someone who can do the job you’re hiring them to do.

I want you to hire partners who have great character and who like and respect you.

And just as a bonus, you are more likely to be successful with a partner than you are on your own.

You and your partners will work long hours together making stressful decisions. If your partner has a character you don’t respect, your team won’t last.

Fill your team with people who have great character and you will be well on your way to success.

When choosing your partners and team members, always remember that you can impart skills, but not character.

  1. Act
    Talk only delays action.

Successful entrepreneurs take action.

It’s easy to get wrapped up in planning, considering potential mistakes, discussing funding, and talking in meetings with board members. If you just talk, you won’t do anything.

At some point, you need to stop the talking and make something happen.

  1. spend time
Think there’s such a thing as overnight success? I recommend you take a closer look.

When tested, the people and companies that became overnight sensations and successes worked really hard and longed for their accomplishments.

If you think you found an overnight success, re-examine and examine closely the hours, days and years that went into their success.

Look at their lives, the things they learned and how many times they failed.

Successful entrepreneurs take the time it takes to succeed. And many of you have failures along the way.

If you think it’s taking too long to find success, give yourself a break.

Keep plugging away, put in the hours, and soon you’ll be a successful entrepreneur.

Imagine looking back on all the hard work and knowing it paid off. Keep this image in your mind to motivate you forward through the long, sloppy hours.

  1. plan your finances
Startups and entrepreneurs need money. It’s just part of the lifestyle.

Many entrepreneurs spend too much time looking for money and not enough taking action, but that doesn’t mean you can jump into the abyss without a plan.

For most entrepreneurs, they use their own savings to start their business. That’s risky. Have a plan and you minimize your risk.

Plan your finances in the beginning and try to stick to it, but know that the plan will need to be adjusted along the way.

  1. who is your customer?
One of the most common reasons entrepreneurial businesses fail is because there is no customer.

If you start a business or make a product but don’t know who will buy it, that person may not exist.

Before you create a financial plan, raise capital, or even choose a name, make sure there is a customer who will buy your product or use your services.

Without a customer, you don’t have a business.

Successful entrepreneurs know who their customers are.

  1. listen to complaints
This is one of the tips that I think is most important for entrepreneurs.

By listening to your customers’ complaints, you identify the weaknesses of your business.

Similar to the last tip, you cannot have a successful business without customers. However, there is another possible scenario.

How Much Does Jeff Bezos Make in a Second?

The ongoing outbreak of the coronavirus continues to rattle economies around the world-people are being laid off from their jobs, fired, or facing wage cuts; several industries are suffering huge losses during the shutdown. However, the richest man in the world has still managed to increase his wealth and is now reportedly on his way to becoming a trillionaire. We talk about Jeff Bezos, founder and CEO of Amazon.

Jeff Bezos becomes the world’s first trillionaire?
Jeff Bezos has reportedly been receiving the same “modest” annual salary of $81,840 (much less than most American representatives) for the past two decades. However, most of his wealth comes from his Amazon shares.

There has been an increase in online shopping as people rely more on e-commerce platforms during the Covid 19 shutdown. Add to that increased subscriptions to its OTT platform Amazon Prime Video Amazon seems to be making big profits during this crisis. And so is Jeff Bezos, whose fortune has reportedly grown by more than $28.3 billion this year. But the question is – exactly how much is his fortune?

According to Forbes, Jeff Bezos’ current net worth is an astounding $143.9 billion.

How much does Jeff Bezos make in a minute

According to a report published by Business Insider in 2019, Bezos estimates he makes $2.489 per second and $149.353 per minute of the day.

Earlier this year in January, Bezos reportedly added $13.2 billion to his net worth in 15 minutes.

In addition to Bezos, Comparisun also compares the details of other billionaires – Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is expected to become a trillionaire by 2036 and Mukesh Ambani is expected to join the coveted trillion-dollar club by 2033.

How Many Kids Does Elon Musk Have?

We may know Elon Musk best for Tesla, SpaceX and PayPal, but now he’s at the center of his family life. He and his famous musician girlfriend Grimes have been together since 2018 – and they welcomed their first child together in May 2020. Now Musk will be busy being a new dad for a while.

While this is Grimes ‘ first child,it’s not Musk. He already has several children from his first marriage to Justine Wilson – and Wilson has spoken at length about what her relationship with Musk has been like over the years. Here’s how many children Musk has in total.

Musk only recently publicly acknowledged Grimes’ pregnancy via Twitter. Previously, fans knew she was pregnant because of her Instagram, where she shared updates. And it was clear that she was ready and excited to bring a little one into the world.

Musk has 5 other children with Justine Wilson

Musk now officially has six children. Distractify explains that the Tesla CEO has five children with his first wife, Justine Wilson. The two were married from 2000 to 2008 and used IVF to help Wilson’s pregnancies. This led to the birth of twins Griffin and Xavier in 2004 and triplets Saxon, Kai and Damian in 2006.

Wilson has since spoken about her relationship with Musk, calling herself his “starter wife” as Musk has since had other high-profile relationships and another marriage. And she spoke more about her decision to have children in a story she wrote for Marie Claire.

“One night, at dinner, he asked me how many children I wanted to have. “One or two,” I said immediately,” if I could afford nannies, I’d like four,” Wilson wrote. She then added that Musk said, “That’s the difference between you and me. I’m just assuming there will be nannies.”

Wilson notes that she is estranged from her ex-husband. Even when it comes to dealing with him and the children, she communicates with his assistant.

In Wilson’s piece, she also talked about her first son with Musk, Nevada. Before the twins and the triplets, they had a son together in 2002. “By the time eBay bought PayPal in 2002, we had moved to Los Angeles and had our first child, a boy named Nevada Alexander,” she wrote. “That same week, he went down for a nap, lay on his back as usual and stopped breathing. He was 10 weeks old, the age when male infants are most susceptible to SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome).”

Unfortunately, the baby could not be revived after three days on life support. And Wilson added that Musk never wanted to talk about the baby’s death, even though she was “openly grieving.”

“I instead buried my feelings and dealt with Nevada’s death by making my first visit to an IVF clinic less than two months later,” she continued. “Elon and I planned to get pregnant again as soon as possible.”

We’re not sure if Wilson and Grimes will ever communicate – or if Grimes will ever have contact with Musk’s other children. We’ll have to wait and see.

What is Entrepreneurship?

While the definition of entrepreneurship has remained constant for decades, opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs have certainly come a long way.

Think about it: What opportunities did an entrepreneur have 100 years ago? If you didn’t have the ability to make something and didn’t have the capital to buy something, you were out of luck.

Fast forward to today, and there are 582 million entrepreneurs in the world. Opportunities have exploded.

Today we’re going to take a closer look at what it means to be an entrepreneur. You’ll also hear from some modern online entrepreneurs who explain how they made the leap and how you can too.

What is entrepreneurship?
Entrepreneurship is the act of starting a business or a company while building and scaling it to make a profit.

But as a basic definition of entrepreneurship, this is somewhat limiting. The more modern definition of entrepreneurship is also about changing the world by solving big problems. Like bringing about social change or creating an innovative product that challenges the status quo of our daily lives.

What the definition of entrepreneurship doesn’t tell you is that entrepreneurship is what people do to take control of their careers and dreams and lead them in the direction they want to go.

It’s about making a life on your own terms. No bosses. No restrictive schedules. And no one holding you back. Entrepreneurs can take the first step toward making the world a better place – for everyone, including themselves.

What is an entrepreneur? Entrepreneur Definition

An entrepreneur is a person who starts a business with the goal of making a profit.

This business definition can be a bit vague, but for good reason. An entrepreneur can be a person who is setting up their first online store on the side, or a freelancer who is just starting out.

The reason they are considered an entrepreneur, although some disagree, is because you don’t necessarily end up where you start.

An entrepreneur is someone who starts a side business that can eventually create a full-time, sustainable business with employees. The same is true for the freelancer. If your entrepreneurial mindset is focused on creating a profitable business, you fit the entrepreneur definition.

But the entrepreneur meaning involves much more than being a business or job creator.

These are some of the most powerful transformers in the world. From Elon Musk sending humans to Mars to Bill Gates and Steve Jobs making computers a part of every household, entrepreneurs imagine the world differently.

And the entrepreneur definition rarely talks about the enormous impact these thought leaders have on the world.

Entrepreneurs see opportunities and solutions where the average person sees only trouble and problems.

Understanding what an entrepreneur is can help more people see the value they – and already – can contribute to the world.

What does entrepreneurship mean?
The meaning of entrepreneurship involves an entrepreneur taking action to change the world. Whether startup entrepreneurs are solving a problem that many struggle with every day, bringing people together in a way that no one has before, or building something revolutionary that moves society forward, they all have one thing in common: action.

It’s not an idea that’s stuck in your head. Entrepreneurs take the idea and execute it. Entrepreneurship is about the execution of ideas.

Importance of entrepreneurship
Why is entrepreneurship so important? Let’s take a look at some of the top reasons.

Entrepreneurs create jobs: Without entrepreneurs, there would be no jobs. Entrepreneurs take the risk of employing themselves. Their ambition to continue growing their business ultimately leads to the creation of new jobs. As their business continues to grow, even more jobs are created.

Entrepreneurs innovate: Some of the greatest technologies in society today come from entrepreneurs. Technological advancement comes from the need to solve a problem, create efficiencies, or make the world a better place. In times when there is more advancement in technology, there is usually an entrepreneur to thank for it.

Entrepreneurs create change: entrepreneurs dream big. Of course, some of their ideas will create global change. They might create a new product that solves a burning problem or take on the challenge of exploring something that has never been explored before. Many aim to make the world a better place with their products, ideas or businesses.

Entrepreneurs give to society: while some have this idea that the rich are evil and greedy, they often do more for the common good than the average person. They make more money and use it to pay more taxes, which helps fund social services. Entrepreneurs are some of the biggest donors to charities and non-profit organizations for various causes. Some try to invest their money in creating solutions to help poorer communities access things we take for granted, like clean drinking water and good health care.

Every entrepreneur has their own “why” that led them to be their own boss. Whether entrepreneurs need more freedom or influence, they all take control of their lives by living life on their own terms.

Here are some of the reasons people become entrepreneurs:

To change the world: Many entrepreneurs strive to make the world a better place. Whether entrepreneurs believe in space exploration, eradicating poverty, or creating a practical but breakthrough product, they ultimately build a brand in service to others. Some entrepreneurs use their business to raise capital quickly to flow into their noble causes.
They don’t want a boss: Entrepreneurs often struggle with having a boss. They may feel stifled and held back. Some entrepreneurs may feel they have a more effective way of doing things. Others may dislike the lack of creative freedom. Ultimately, they are drawn to entrepreneurship to succeed on their own terms. Take a look at 10 obvious signs that you should be working for yourself.
They want flexible hours: Entrepreneurship is popular with those who need flexible hours. For example, many people with disabilities often enjoy entrepreneurship because it allows them to work when they are able. Parents can raise their children at home or pick them up from school without feeling guilty. Students get the flexibility to work around their demanding schedules and courseloads.

They want to work from anywhere: In addition to work schedule flexibility, entrepreneurship is popular with those who don’t want to be tied to a specific location. Entrepreneurs may not want to work in the same place every day, as this can quickly become boring.

They may not be able to get a job: Many find a way into entrepreneurship when they can’t get a job. Instead of being defeated by their situation, they create new opportunities for themselves. A new graduate might open an online store the summer after graduation to build their resume. A parent laid off in the coronavirus economy might start a business to ensure they can continue to feed their family while keeping a roof over their head.

They don’t fit into the corporate environment: entrepreneurs often say that stuffy corporate environments limit their growth. You can spot an entrepreneur in a corporate environment because they are usually trying to gain more control over their role and better understand how everything fits together.

They are curious: Entrepreneurs love to find out the answer to the question, “What happens if…” They are experimental and love to learn. They regularly read business books to advance their knowledge. Entrepreneurship naturally appeals to them because it allows them to learn the most in the shortest amount of time. Their curiosity allows them to continue to grow.

They are ambitious: Those who love to achieve difficult goals and milestones are entrepreneurs. Since there are no limits to what they can achieve, their projects always become bigger and better than they ever imagined. When obstacles arise, they find the workaround to their goal. There is no stopping them.

Entrepreneurs increase national income: Entrepreneurship creates new wealth in an economy. New ideas and improved products or services from entrepreneurs enable the growth of new markets and new wealth.
Why people become entrepreneurs

Examples of entrepreneurs

Walt Disney became one of the most recognizable names in the world. You know him from the Walt Disney Company and theme parks like Disneyland and Walt Disney World. His brand started with the Mickey Mouse character and eventually expanded to include thousands of characters and whimsical fantasy worlds.

But it wasn’t always smooth sailing. He faced challenges like people stealing his work and many commercial failures, but he pushed on and stayed committed to his vision.

Mark Zuckerberg created several products before building Facebook. He created an instant messaging tool that his father used to communicate with his receptionist at his dentist’s office.

Zuckerberg also created music software that Microsoft and AOL were interested in, even though he was only a teenager. Within the year he first started Facebook, it already had 1 million users. Today, Mark Zuckerberg has a net profit of $68.3 billion.

Sara Blakely first launched her Spanx brand in 1998, she was one of the first makers of women’s leggings. Her brand specializes in shapewear and also includes items such as bras, panties and hosiery.

She is also the inventor of arm tights, which allow women to wear their summer clothes year-round. At one point, Blakely was the youngest self-made female billionaire.

Entrepreneur Ideas
As a startup entrepreneur, there are so many ideas you can pursue, depending on the business skills you already have and what you’re willing to learn. Here are a handful of business ideas to help you get started:

Are you ready to be an entrepreneur?
There is no one right way to be an entrepreneur. These people come in all shapes and sizes and can impact virtually every aspect of life as we know it.

In a field with so much diversity, there are some things that all entrepreneurs have in common: They are full of passion and ambition, and they use that as a driving force to build empires that solve some of the world’s toughest problems.

If you’re trying to make your mark in the world or advance society – or even free yourself from the exhausting and inflexible 9-to-5 job, you may be an entrepreneur.

Trust your gut, follow your instincts, and always keep your mind open to learning and exploring new opportunities that come your way.

You may have customers who are interested in your product or service, but if you don’t listen to their complaints, you will soon run out of customers.

Take your customers seriously, treat their complaints with respect, and listen.

They may think you are giving them value, but they may not agree.

Your customers know what they want, and they will tell you what they think.

A smart and successful business owner listens to those complaints and uses that information to fix the company’s weaknesses.

  1. exceed expectations
If you deliver more than you promised, you are sure to have satisfied customers, investors and business partners.

Making promises and not delivering is a quick way to lose your business.

Successful entrepreneurs, on the other hand, exceed expectations.

  1. manage risks
Remember when I said you should take risks? Yes, you should. But you shouldn’t take every risk that presents itself.

Instead, manage your risks.

Learn to identify which risks are worth taking and which you should walk away from.

For example, if you know you don’t fit the mold of a typical entrepreneur, figure out how you can better fit in and limit the risk of being skipped over because of your difference.
As a successful entrepreneur, you must learn to recognize what risks to take, but also when to take risks.

Taking risks is not just what the risk is, but when you take the risk.

Earlier in starting your business, Taking a risk may have a much lower probability of failure than towards the end of starting your business.

Be sure to recognize where you are in the entrepreneurial cycle when calculating what risks to take.

Learn to manage your risks and you will be a much more successful entrepreneur.

  1. read case studies
As an entrepreneur you will be swamped with your business, need to take care of it all time.So when you get home and have some free time, you might be tempted to read fiction or books for entertainment.

So when you get home and have some free time, you might be tempted to read fiction or books for entertainment.

Instead, I encourage you to read case studies. Read biographies of successful entrepreneurs. Read anything you can get your hands on about those who have already succeeded.

There is always something to learn from those who have already done it.

I think it’s especially important to learn from the mistakes of others. If you learn from their mistakes, you don’t have to make those mistakes yourself.

And when you make mistakes yourself, you definitely learn from them.

The more you learn from their mistakes and successes, the faster you can grow your business and become a successful entrepreneur.

  1. self-promotion
Many people don’t want to self-promote or talk about their business too much for fear of sounding like an ego maniac.

But if you don’t promote your business, who will?

Egotistical self-promotion and self-promotion can be differentiated.

Know your business, know some vital statistics, and have your 15-second elevator pitch polished and ready to go. Then, when someone asks you about your business, you can promote it factually and quickly.

Another way to promote yourself without sounding cocky is to know what your customers are saying about your business. When someone asks how your business is doing, you can share your customer feedback with them.

Don’t forget to provide some of the bad as well as the good.

  1. set company culture
There may have been a time when company culture wasn’t important, but with social media and the 24-hour news cycle, your company and employees are always under scrutiny.

Your attitude, beliefs and morals set the tone for the rest of your company and culture. Cough, Uber, Cough.

Set a positive company culture from day one and you’re more likely to work with people you like who inspire you and attract great clients.

Many entrepreneurs work with family, from home and even across borders. It’s important to define and know what you want your company culture to look like.

  1. network, network, network
There is no such thing as too much networking. Well, there is, I think. Don’t let networking get in the way of building your business.

What I will say is that you should never stop networking because you never know where your next lead is going to come from.

And you’re not alone. If you network with enough people, you’re likely to bump into another entrepreneur who has the ideas and connections you need.

You might find a new connection while grabbing a beer at the airport bar, you might meet your next business partner in an elevator on the way to a meeting, and you just never know who will be sitting next to you on the bus.

Meet everyone you come in contact with and have a quick chat. You never know who you will be sitting next to and what connections or resources they may be able to offer you.

  1. learn and create
The successful entrepreneurial mindset is one of learning and creating. As an entrepreneur, you always want to be absorbing and creating new information.

This kind of mindset can be exhausting and taxing, but without it, you’re not going anywhere.

To stay in the learning and creating mindset, stay away from television, social media, and movies. This type of entertainment causes us to be passive and just absorb information.

Follow everything in moderation, but in general, these activities are time wasters for entrepreneurs. Limiting your entertainment time is a sacrifice that must be made to become a successful entrepreneur.

Instead of watching TV and movies, read case studies and meditate. Take care of your mind and body in a constructive, healing way.

It may “feel good” to watch TV, but it’s not actually a rejuvenating way to relax.

To be a successful entrepreneur, find relaxing activities that help restore your learner-creator mindset.

  1. deliver, not sell
Honestly, no one likes to be sold. I mean seriously, who likes to go to the parking lot and buy a new car? We all know what we’re getting into and dread it.

So, instead of selling to your potential customers, deliver. Offer them a free trial and deliver a great product.

Research has shown that giving away a free product or trial is two times more effective on social media than the usual hard-sell tactic.

If your company delivers a great product or service, you’ll build customer loyalty faster than you can say, “Successful entrepreneur.”

  1. baby steps
Building a successful entrepreneurial business can seem daunting, and that’s okay. Building a business from the ground up is a massive undertaking.

But I have a foolproof tactic: abandon it.

Any problem that seems insurmountable, break it down into baby steps.

Once you’ve broken it down into baby steps, take them one at a time. Before you know it, by just putting one foot in front of the other, you’ll be halfway up the mountain.

With grit and perseverance, Baby Steps will take you far toward being a successful entrepreneur.

  1. put it all on your calendar
You think I’m kidding, but I’m not. Put it all on your calendar.

Think something doesn’t need to be on your calendar? It does.

Put your meetings, quiet work times, time with friends, happy hour business meetings, kids soccer games, workouts, meal times, and anything else you do on your calendar.

Once something is on your calendar, everyone who needs to meet with you knows there is no time available.

And then no meeting is scheduled when you “intended” to go to the gym. Exercise is important for entrepreneurs for many reasons, and I have more on that later.

Once everything is on your calendar, these are no longer excuses for not getting it done.

I also want to draw your attention to one of the elements I’ve included: Quiet Work Time. This is the time when you can work, problem solve, or think creatively without being interrupted.

Everyone needs these periods of time. To be a successful entrepreneur, protect your quiet work hours with your life. The success of your business may depend on them.

24 Exercise
Did you know that sitting all day is bad for your health? It is.

Being a successful entrepreneur is not just about running a profitable business. Run yourself too ragged managing this business and you might not get to enjoy its success.

You need to take care of yourself and your business. One of the many self-care tasks I recommend is exercise.

Be sure to book time in your calendar to move and get out of your chair.

Maybe go to yoga, take walks, climb the stairs instead of taking the elevator, or just go to the gym.

Build time into your calendar each week (dare I hope for every day?) to be physically active and take care of your body and your business.

A sick or unhealthy entrepreneur is not a successful entrepreneur.

25th Focus
The life of a successful entrepreneur can feel scattered and disconnected, but it’s important to limit the amount of time you spend multitasking.

Research has shown time and time again that multitasking doesn’t work. Humans are not capable of it.

And yes, multitasking involves distracting yourself from your phone and email tabs. Close them and put them away.

Learn to focus and take your time on just one task. When you give one task your full attention, you are more likely to complete it and complete it well.

It’s also important to know that too many tasks on your to-do list can make you ineffective and distracted.

Learn to focus your to-do list on the tasks you can complete in your allotted time.

For example, each night, set the three tasks you will do the following day. Each month, set the overall goal for your business that you want to accomplish in the next 30 days.

These techniques can help you learn how to focus and manage your business more effectively

25 take your time
We finally made it to the end that I think is the hardest thing for successful entrepreneurs to put into practice.

And yes, I really mean that you need to take time off. Americans don’t do it enough.

You may not need time off every day or every week, but you do need to take time off. If all you do is work, you’ll burn out. Quick.

I think that’s the biggest challenge for entrepreneurs because they often see themselves as invincible or think they have to be invincible.

No, we’re all human and we all need time off.

Time off allows your brain to roam, rest and think. Have you ever wondered why you think so many ideas in the shower? It’s because your brain has free range to just think and roam.

Even the most successful entrepreneurs don’t work all the time. Everyone needs time off, so don’t be ashamed of being human and normal.

When you take time off, notify your employees in advance and let them know why it’s important to you.

Teaching your employees the importance of time off will help them respect your time off and recognize when they need time off.

By the way, you should also give your employees time off. They are human too and will take occasional breaks.

Take time off before you need it and recognize that it is important to heal, create and become a more successful entrepreneur.

Do you agree that this is the most difficult tip to work on in your life?

25. Questions
You don’t know everything. No one does.

So ask for help, advice, mentors, and anything else you need. When you ask questions, you get information.

The more information you have, the more connections you can make and the easier it will be to run your business.

Asking questions also helps you stay in a learning mindset and accept advice and information.

Learners and those who ask questions are more likely to become successful entrepreneurs.

26. Failure
Failure is an option.

Better to accept it now then later. You will fail eventually.

Failure is one aspect of becoming a successful entrepreneur, so you better get used to it now.

27. be inspired
Being an entrepreneur is a creative pursuit. As an entrepreneur, you need to make connections, solve problems, and create new things that no one has thought of yet.

Creators and creatives need to be inspired.

Successful entrepreneurs make time for the things that inspire them.

Maybe your inspiration comes from an art museum, maybe it’s reading books, maybe it’s doodling -whatever inspires you, do it. It’s good for your business.

Successful entrepreneurs are inspired. Don’t let the magic slip away for too long. Whenever you can, and definitely when you’re feeling burned out, get out there and get inspired.

Inspiration is the spark for ideas. Ideas make successful entrepreneurs.

28. Help others
Entrepreneurs are busy, so this tip sometimes trips them up. It’s easy to think ” ” I don’t have time to help others! I’m already so busy!”

But helping others can be inspiring and massively beneficial.

How good does it feel to help others? And as an entrepreneur, you have a network to share your expertise with and jobs to hire for. Why wouldn’t you help others?

If you help someone, they will probably find a way to help you. It may not be today or tomorrow, but somewhere in the future they will help you when you need it.

Helping others is also a great way to build a loyal and supportive network around you.

Successful entrepreneurs help the people they meet.

Final thoughts
Success in business doesn’t require overnight success. In fact, that’s largely a myth.

As I’ve shown in these 30 tips, you need to take a long-term strategy and build in small steps until it’s successful.

You can do it, but only if you are aware of the potential pitfalls and are willing to fail.

It’s also important to give and accept help. Entrepreneurship is not a solitary pursuit. It takes a village, as you say.

Finding success as an entrepreneur is no easy task, but with these simple tips, I hope it gets just a little bit easier.

Remember, my biggest challenge to all entrepreneurs out there is to take time out and listen to complaints. I think these tips are often forgotten, but are so important to being a successful entrepreneur.

Up at 4:10 – shuffling
through darkness, fingers
knowing the drill so well a cigarette
is packed in the night.

Shuffling through darkness, a door
open – the obligatory smoke
to chase the demons away.

4:10
wondering “Is it any different?
This day than any other day? The same
rain falls, the same demon haunts
the night dancing
with a Unicorn, vying
for the mind.”

Smoke done,
door shut, he shuffles
back to hide among the folds
of cheap comforters.

Up at 7:10 – checking
messages, threads; habit
really and nothing more. Should
stay awake now – but the escape
of sleep beckons – another smoke
punched and nothing today
differs from yesterday.

9:40 and shame
and a voice which is not
there calls his name, drags him
from bed – a voice he begins
to fear will only be heard
in his head.

One more cigarette made…

Sitting
in the wind and rain
“it is the same rain that falls
while the same wind blows, the same
stale, cold, coffee and thick
nicotine cough – the same stiff muscles and
the same empty house.”

This new day
of the new year –
it is no different
than the three hundred
sixty and five which ran
before my friend.

…and “On Saturday
Afternoons In 1963”
screams
from the speakers.

Benefits of Bumpy Name Orbit Labels for Organization and Safety

As the mother of four, I am always looking for ways to get and stay organized. Being a concerned parent, I also want to keep my children safe. Bumpy Name Orbit Labels help me to do all of these things. Here is why every parent needs Bumpy Name Orbit Labels.
Convenience

If you have ever been to a play date or the sitter’s house and wondered which child had the red sippy cup, then you will immediately see the value in the Bumpy Name Orbit Labels. At one time, a few friends of mine would bring their little ones over for a visit. We may have had seven kids in the house at a time. Who had the Gerber bottles? Was this Andy’s jar of Hawaiian Delight, or maybe it was Monique’s? Bumpy Name Orbit Labels takes the guess work out of this situation.

The labels by Inch Bug are colorful, easy to read, and tactile for the visually impaired. You will never wonder again who’s items belong to which child.

Durable

The Bumpy Name Orbit Labels are made from safe, durable material. They can safely be boiled and sterilized. They can even be put in the microwave oven with no problems.

The Bumpy Name Orbit Labels won’t peel off like sticky labels. Your inquisitive toddler won’t be able to rip it off the drinking glass. These Bumpy Name Orbit Labels are made to last for years to come. Originally designed by a mom, they are stretchy and grow with your child from bottle to sipper cup. They can even be used on large water bottles or shampoo for overnight trips with your older children. My kid, who’s attending school at Kinderopvang Leiden, always uses this one.

Educational

Bumpy Name Orbit Labels can be used as an educational tool to practice associating letters to words. Your youngster will quickly learn that the letters “Kevin” are on his cup. Parents can begin to teach the child the names of the letters and word recognition with the labels. Also, Braille is included on the Bumpy Name Orbit Labels. Visually impaired children will be able to experience Braille from an early age. Sighted children can learn about the tactile methods used by others.

The Bumpy Name Labels come in different colors. Very young children can learn to distinguish their cup from their sister’s cup by the color. Parents can teach their child about blue or green, for example. These labels are a great way to introduce kids to colors, letters, Braille, and personal items.

Alternative Uses

Bumpy Name Orbit Labels were originally designed to fit snugly on a standard four ounce bottle for babies, but they can do so much more. The labels are also perfect for older kids, too. The next time your daughter heads out on an overnight with her Girl Scout troop, label her shampoo, body wash, or vitamins. There will be no question of whose items belong to which of the ladies in the group.

Use a recycled Pringles container as a pencil holder, Hot Wheels caddy, or craft container while traveling or at school. Mark each of your child’s containers with the Bumpy Name Orbit Labels.

Blind or visually impaired people could use the Bumpy Name Orbit Labels to mark their cans, drinks, or conditioner. Having their name in Braille on their item can be very handy. I know when I am at a picnic where everyone’s glasses are scattered around the table, it is handy to put my hand on my cup and drink with confidence knowing which cup is mine without needing to ask.

There are so many benefits to the Bumpy Name Orbit Labels. Check them out at www.inchbug.com

The Five Basic Essentials of Great Website Promotion Start with Excellent Web Design

To cut right to the chase, there are five prime factors in determining a web site’s success or failure. These elements are greatly overlooked by all the tech gurus out there who espouse complicated theories about using the exact keywords and Meta tags in your main page to guarantee a great placement on Google or Lycos. But what they are missing out on is the fact that you need a great web site foundation to build on first before you can even begin to think about that #1 ranking in Google that will allow your web site to rake in thousands of dollars per day in AdSense revenue. Let’s go over five basic key steps you will need to develop that very important foundation for your online business or blog site to succeed before you can launch a serious web site promotion campaign.
1. MAKE SURE YOUR SITE’S CONTENT IS POPULAR ENOUGH TO GENERATE SUBSTANTIAL HITS This topic has been written about many times over, but it is important to discuss here as well. Your overall site topic or subject must be popular enough with the general internet public so that it can one day make enough money to sustain itself, so be sure you actually love the topic you have designed your site around. Why do you need to find a topic that holds your interest and is popular enough to attract thousands of visitors per day? Because of the fact that you will have to spend a LOT more time with the web site than you ever thought possible going in to this new venture.

Building and sustaining a growing web site takes real tenacity and burning ambition to not only write for, but to go out in cyber world and promote for hours on end every single day. The best way to start this promotion of your site that will end in success, is to generate compelling content so others will see your topic through your eyes only, and nobody else’s. That’s the #1 way to get great word of mouth about a site. And great word of mouth is worth more than a million dollars in lottery tickets as far as insuring your web site’s ultimate success.

2. MAKE SURE SPELLING AND GRAMMATICAL ERRORS ON YOUR MAIN PAGE DO NOT EXIST A really lousy written main home page is the single biggest site killer there is as far as pulling web subscribers to your site goes. Nobody likes to take the time and effort to figure out exactly what you meant by the phrase “She was ‘gripeeing’ about the fact that her boyfriend had no money left to spend on her after paying for movie tickets”. See how that sentence makes no sense? How about this one: “She was griping about the fact that her boyfriend had no money left to spend on her after paying for movie tickets.” Now you can see how just one word that was misspelled can drive a reader crazy when trying to figure out the context and meaning of a sentence.

You don’t want a web visitor to your site to feel any frustration in trying to understand what your great content is espousing, so by all means, spell check EVERY sentence and phrase you put on all of your pages before uploading them to your main site. You must also make sure that your content flows along nicely with a heading and sub-heading at the top of all paragraphs to make the content more web-friendly to generate a lot more subscribers to your web site. For some information regarding getting web hosting, click on Canadian web hosting reviews.

3. MAKE SURE THAT YOUR CONTENT IS ACCESSIBLE By being accessible, I mean that if your site has a category listing called “Top Blog Tips”, when the web viewer clicks on that listing he must be taken directly to the top of that paragraph to read the article, and then he must have the ability to click on another category and go to the top of that article page just as quickly. Internet users are very twitchy when it comes to reading web pages, so you must design those pages to be quickly navigable for all of the impatient web readers out there, or pretty soon you won’t have a web site to promote to anybody anymore.

4. I F YOU HAVE ANY BROKEN LINKS OR IMAGES FIX THEM IMMEDIATELY Bad links are very prevalent in a lot of lousy web site designs being built today. The web designers usually chalk up bad links as the “other guys” fault, so they just move on to designing the next page. Bad idea. By leaving a broken link on one of your main content pages, that sets up a very bad professional image in the mind of your web visitor. A really good site maintenance schedule for your site is a great idea to eradicate this major problem.

There are a lot of free software programs out there that allow you to check for all broken links on your site automatically. You can use this on a weekly schedule to scan all of your pages for broken links, and then when you find one, just delete that link and find a similar one to replace it with, or just get rid of it altogether. Believe me, you’re a lot better off without it.

5. MAKE SURE YOUR LOAD TIME IS AT A MINIMUM Not everybody out there has a cable modem or a dsl line that they can access for quick web pages, so don’t assume that your own web site pages will load at the same quick speed for everybody else that will be viewing your web pages. Being aware of that fact is the only way for you to make sure you don’t put a lot of unnecessarybanner ads, different font types or sound files on your main web pages that will slow down the people still using slower connection speeds.

Adding those mostly needless items will lead to a mass exodus of thousands of visitors to your site who might otherwise stick around and generate hundreds of dollars in revenue per month for your online business. When you do add a visual or audio enhancement file to your site, always ask yourself if it’s worth the risk of slowing down a few hundred people for just so another “Hostel” movie banner can be seen in full animation mode on your horror movie page in the cinema category of your web site . In the long run, you always want to make the majority of visitors to your site happy, or the time and money you used for site promotion will have been all for nothing.
